i had a chance to join a 2 days-session brainstorming on current education in malaysia held in the university of nottingham. this program, i believe is a good one. as the government tried to consider opinions from postgrads students in the UK.they have to present their 2 weeks research and findings, also their proposal to improve our education system. all of them are the PHD students with outstanding credibility; i believe.
above all the presentation, i like the most; presentation from the IC representative. others are from nottingham, birmingham, hull, sheffield, salford business school, lancaster [currently doing phd], brunnel [currently a lecturer on information system].
apart from that, each malaysian society have their own brainstorming session to have their ideas prepared, and send them as a report. and maybe will be considered by the ministry.
the seminar held in the present of dato' hishamuddin and dato' mustapha mohd. also, vice canselor of USM and UKM.

while the USM vice cancelor[pic: Professor Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul Razak] talked about the transformation of education. ie proper brain developement and functionality, linkage of science and humanity.





i believe it take days to explain the input of the seminar. i dont have a minute to go through all the handouts given yet. i promise, i will.


antara kepincangan yg di kemukakan oleh saudara-saudari postgrad [dah penat nk translate..hahahaha]:

1)penghantaran pelajar Bsc ke luar negara. utk program masters atau phd tkpe.
2)peperiksaan bulanan, peperiksaan pertengahan tahun, peperiksaan akhir tahun
[masa nk prepare utk exam2 diatas lagi banyak drp masa spent utk belajar, kes exam-oriented]
3)waktu persekolahan. kt uk start 0830-1530 [bnyk masa rehat, tak termengah2 bgn pagi]
4)stress [ ie banyak A tk penting, more towards pembinaan insan, self confidence to contribute ideas]
5)masalah spoonfeed [promote critical thinking, expanding capacity to learn]
6)technology ade, tp duduk tgk saje [konon satu skolah satu lab computer, tp cikgu tk bg pakai sbb takut rosak]
7)individualistic, nk berjaya sorang2 [uk, sekolah diorg promote workgroup]
8)size kelas yg besar [kurang fokus guru terhadap pelajar, guru dan pelajar takde personal contact]
9)beban tugas guru selain pengajaran [cikgulah mengajar, die jugak laa yg kutip yuran, blablabla -tugas office]
10)persoalkan intelectuality seseorang guru [dah dpt keje cikgu nih, smpai mati pon sure ade keje, quality seorang guru tidak terjamin, proposed kerja berkontrak]
dan banyak lagi. spt ISO 9000 in IPTA academic, chaos theory dalam pendidikan.
kekangan masa menyebabkan mereka rushing dalam menyampaikan isi presentation.
